Led by Nokuthula Zanele Mthembu
Nokuthula Zanele Mthembu, our Managing Director, guides the business with a steady hand and a clear focus on quality. Based in Umhlanga, she keeps the day-to-day work practical and customer-first, whether we are serving a family treat in store or preparing for a large event in Durban, Ballito or Sandton.
She pays close attention to the details that matter most to South African customers, from reliable timing during load-shedding planning to keeping catering service organised for busy school functions and office celebrations. Her approach is simple: do the basics properly, and people come back.
- Focus on service standards and customer satisfaction
- Oversees store operations and catering direction
- Supports events across KZN and Gauteng
Operations that keep the day moving
Jason Naidoo, our Operations Manager, looks after the moving parts that make each service run on time. He manages stock flow, equipment checks and transport planning, which is especially important when we are covering multiple areas like La Lucia, Hillcrest, Pietermaritzburg and Johannesburg in the same week.
Jason works with a calm, practical style and keeps a close eye on preparation so that toppings, cups and serving items are ready when needed. He understands that a good dessert service depends on clean handovers, correct quantities and a team that knows its route.
- Coordinates logistics for store and catering work
- Plans stock and service equipment for events
- Helps keep turnaround times reliable
Events planned with care
Ayanda Khumalo, our Events Coordinator, handles bookings and event details with an organised, friendly manner. She works with clients who need birthday catering, wedding service, corporate orders, festival support or school event dessert options, and she helps shape each booking around the size and style of the occasion.
Ayanda is often the first person to turn a general enquiry into a proper plan. She checks guest numbers, serving style, venue access and timing, then makes sure the setup suits the space whether it is a home party in Umhlanga or a mall activation in Johannesburg.
- Manages event bookings and scheduling
- Works on menu choices for different functions
- Coordinates service details with the wider team
In-store service and daily supervision
Megan Pillay, our Store Supervisor, keeps the front of house running smoothly and helps customers enjoy a quick, pleasant visit. She makes sure the store is neat, service is efficient and each order is put together with care, even when the shop is busy on weekends or after school.
She is also the person who keeps the team focused on consistent presentation. From the texture of the shaved snow ice to the balance of toppings in each cup, Megan notices the small things that turn a simple dessert stop into a memorable one.
Her attention to detail matters in coastal weather too, where humidity can affect service pace and product handling. She keeps the team ready for those conditions without making a fuss.
Catering support for every kind of crowd
Sibusiso Dlamini, our Catering Lead, takes charge of larger event service and on-site dessert delivery. He understands how to set up for groups, keep service moving and manage the practical side of live serving stations, drop-off dessert cups and full event setup service.
He works closely with the rest of the team on birthday catering, wedding catering, corporate catering and large group catering. For him, good service means the job is tidy, on time and easy for the host to manage on the day.
- Handles live serving stations and event setup
- Supports large orders across Durban, Ballito and Gauteng
- Checks presentation and service flow on site
Customer care that stays personal
Leanne Govender, our Customer Experience Manager, makes sure each enquiry gets a helpful, human response. She supports customers who are planning home parties, school events, custom menu requests or dessert service for bigger celebrations, and she helps keep communication clear from first contact to final delivery.
Leanne knows that good service is not only about the dessert itself. It is also about answering properly, giving straightforward options and making the process easy for families, schools and companies who need dependable catering support. Some days are busy, but she keeps things approachable and organised.
How the team works together
What makes Snow Cream work well is not one person on their own, but the way the team supports each other from the first enquiry through to the final cup served. Management, operations, events, store service and catering each have a clear role, which helps us handle both everyday visits and larger bookings with less stress.
That teamwork matters when orders are spread across Umhlanga, Durban, La Lucia, Hillcrest, Pietermaritzburg, Ballito, Sandton and Johannesburg. It also matters when weather, traffic or load-shedding changes the plan. The team stays practical, keeps communication open and makes adjustments where needed so customers are not left guessing.
- Clear communication between store, events and catering teams
- Practical planning for venue access, timings and guest numbers
- Flexible support for functions across KZN and Gauteng
From a small family treat to a full catering setup, the people behind Snow Cream bring order, care and a good sense of timing to the work. That is what our customers see, and what they can rely on.
